Anton Hartinger was a flower painter and lithograph. He studied at the Vienna Academy and was a pupil of Strenzel and Sebastian Wegmayr. In 1836 he became Co-Rector of the flower- and fruit class at the Academy, whose member he was from 1843 to 1851. He illustrated several books on botanics and in 1859 he founded his own studio of a lithograph.
